The situation was not conducive to our children imagine sitting in a single classroom in one classroom which doesn’t have enough desks and also the structure itself does not support children and teachers during teaching and learning process. Chema Primary school is located in Karagwe District it has temporally classrooms for standard one to standard seven pupils.
The 3 by 3 project is the project under Jambo Bukoba and their supporter Helmut Schreyer from Swiss Seaside Foundation Munich Germany. This project at Chema have been successfully handed over to the school and the community by the Regional Commissioner of Kagera Region due to the commitment and readiness of Karagwe District and the community because with this project the community has to contributed ten percent of the total budget, the government thirty percent and Jambo Bukoba sixty percent that makes the total budget of 100 percent of which is sixty six million Tanzania Shillings 66,000,000/= .
“The government has invested more than 711Billion National wise and here in Kagera we have received more than 3.8 special for Education Sector as the government we want to have better education for everyone. We understand in some schools the ratio of 45 pupils in one classroom is not applicable due to overpopulation, and by seeing that we thank Jambo Bukoba for seeing that too and initiate for project like this that will balance the ratio for one classroom 45 pupils. And by doing so the government Goal for Better Education for all will be attained.” Said region commissioner Kagera Region.
The community members together with the school committee received three classrooms and teachers office at Chema Primary School, such kind of project it is in progress in other two districts Biharamulo and Muleba. During the hand over ceremony the regional commissioner said “I can see the value for money on this project, I really like the project i wish to move from Bukoba and make chema School as my Head Office”
